Second Chance SPCA is Plano's Premier No-Kill Animal Shelter. Our mission is to rescue at-risk cats and dogs from DFW municipal shelters. We supply them with needed medical care, food, and shelter, and just as important, we provide all of our cats and dogs with the love and attention they deserve until they find their forever homes.
Since opening our doors in 2006, Second Chance SPCA, has rescued and placed over 3,500 cats and dogs with caring, loving families. One of our many success stories is that of Jean Luc:
After being rescued from a municipal shelter's euthanasia row, Jean Luc spent a whole year with us at Second Chance SPCA before finding his forever home. Jean Luc was a young pitbull mix pup who suffered from a heart condition that caused his heart to be twice the size of a normal heart. He took many trips to the vet and took medication to keep his heart rate up to prevent fainting spells from happening. During his time with us, Jean Luc received extensive medical care and as much attention and love as possible. One day, an amazing family visited our shelter looking to adopt a dog, they fell in love with Jean Luc, and after a full year with us, Jean Luc went home to his new forever family.
With your support, SCSPCA saves and gives at-risk cats and dogs the compassion & veterinary care they need to heal while they await adoption. As a no-kill facility, every animal we rescue can take all the time they need to find the perfect fit.
Help us give them a second chance!
