The LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation was founded in 2002, in memory of LeRoy Homer, First Officer of United #93 which crashed in Shanksville, PA on September 11th, 2001. The mission of the LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation is to encourage and support young adults who wish to pursue careers as professional pilots and increase awareness to the field of aviation. The Foundation awards flight scholarships to obtain private pilot certification. Courtney “Voodoo” Vidt received a scholarship in 2006. Following in LeRoy’s footsteps, she attended the US Air Force Academy and graduated in 2011. Courtney is currently the Director of Wing Training for the 62nd Airlift Wind, and is a member of the C-17 West Coast Demo Team. My name is Melodie Homer and on behalf of the LeRoy Homer Foundation, I would like to thank you for selecting us as your CFC campaign charity. With your help we will be able to continue to support young adults with a passion for flight and help them become the next generation of aviators. Thank you.
